Change up your colour

Considering changing your hair colour by adding some highlights and lowlights? If you are afraid to touch your natural locks, adding tape hair extensions in different shades can add dimension to your hair colour.

Enhance your signature style

The added length and volume that extensions give you hair can add more allure to any hairstyle, from mermaid waves to a sleek pony.

Our Jadore Hair Supplies tape hair extensions are beautiful and natural-looking. Plus, unlike temporary methods of hair extensions, there’s no need to take the time to apply them daily. Simply wake up with glam hair.

What are tape hair extensions?

Dreaming of thicker, longer, more luscious locks? If you’re considering hair extensions but don’t want to deal with the fuss of applying clip-ins every day, tape hair extensions may be for you.

Tape extensions are a semi-permanent method of hair extensions. As the name suggests, these extensions are made of pre-taped wefts, secured with a medical-grade adhesive, that get taped in between your natural hair using sandwich-like bonds. Tape in hair extensions are the preferred choice for many, as they do not require any chemicals or heat to apply. Even better, the application is as short as one hour.

Let’s have a look at some of the benefits of tape extensions:

Tape hair extensions are suitable for damaged hair

Tape-ins should not cause any harm to already damaged hair provided you see a professional for application and have them maintained on time. This makes them a great option if you’re looking to give your hair a break after severe colour breakage.

Tape hair extensions are quick to apply

Depending on your hair and how many tape wefts you may need, you could be in and out of the salon within an hour.

Tape hair extensions provide a natural look

The base of tape hair extensions are very thin and flat. When installed, your tape-in extensions will be practically invisible, giving you a naturally enhanced look.

Tape hair extensions are perfect for fine hair

As tape hair extensions are so natural-looking, they are perfect for those with a finer hair texture. If you don’t necessarily want a full head of extensions but still want the look of thicker hair, tape extensions can be customised to suit your hair goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tape in hair extensions basics +

What is Remy hair?

Remy hair is hair that, when cut from a ponytail, is collected with all strands running in the same direction. This ensures that the hair cuticle layer faces the same direction from root to tip, providing a natural look. Hair that is not Remy is often stripped of its natural oils, leaving tangled hair with a straw-like texture. Remy hair, on the other hand, is soft, shiny and tangle-free. In fact, Remy hair is by far the finest quality of human hair extensions available on the market.

Are tape in hair extensions right for me?

If you are wanting to try a more permanent method of hair extensions, tape-ins may be for you. Tape hair extensions do require a bit of maintenance, so you must be willing to visit a professional every four to six weeks. If you aren’t prepared for that commitment, why not try our range of clip-in hair extensions?

Are tape hair extensions invisible?

Not only are tape-in extensions virtually invisible, but they’re flexible too, which means you will hardly be able to feel them when washing, brushing or blow-drying them. If you’re interested in hair extensions but want something more flexible and less visible, tape-in extensions are the better choice.

How long do tape in hair extensions last?

Provided you follow your hair technician’s recommendations on how to care for your extensions, our Indian hair extensions should last approximately three to five months, with Russian extensions lasting up to a year.

I have fine, thin hair - can I still wear tape in extensions?

Tape-in hair extensions are actually the best option for fine or thin hair. Wefts and clip-in extensions can be quite bulky and heavy, which could be uncomfortable if you have fine hair. Tape-in extensions will protect your hair from breakage and damage, provided you follow the necessary maintenance instructions.

Your hair extensions appointment +

Is a consultation necessary?

Once you’ve invested in hair extensions, you want to be sure that they are installed correctly. Scheduling a consultation at a hair salon in your area will help you to evaluate your hair technician’s expertise as well as the service offered at the salon. You will also receive a quotation for the installation, and your hairstylist will tell you how to prepare for your upcoming appointment.

What can I expect during my appointment?

All you will need to do during your appointment is relax, and your hairstylist will take care of the rest. If you’ve decided on tape-in hair extensions, you won’t need to spend more than around an hour at the salon unless you’ll be treating or colouring your natural hair too. Your stylist will also provide you with the necessary maintenance instructions and product recommendations before you leave the salon.

Maintaining your tape in hair extensions +

How often will my tape-in extensions need to be moved up?

As your hair grows, your extensions will slowly move downwards too, which means you will need to schedule an appointment at a professional salon to reposition your extensions. On average, tape in hair extensions need to be moved every 4 – 6 weeks.

How do I remove tape-in hair extensions?

If you want to avoid damaging your natural hair, it’s highly recommended that you return to a professional salon if you’re ready to remove your tape-in hair extensions.

Do I need to change the way I wash and style my hair?

Even though tape-in hair extensions are very flexible, you will still need to make some slight adjustments to your hair care routine. Washing and drying your hair will require a gentler touch, and you will need to be careful not to apply any heat directly to your bonds. Your hair technician will provide you with all of the necessary aftercare advice that you need to maintain your extensions. They are very easy to maintain once you know how.

Can I colour my hair extensions?

Absolutely! Because our hair is 100% human hair, all of our extensions can be dyed. However, you should never lift the colour, and only a qualified hairdresser should be applying colour to your extensions. You want to keep the hair healthy – always colour darker, never lighter.

What products should I use with my tape-in hair extensions?

To get the most out of your Jadore Hair Supplies tape extensions, we recommend only using our specially formulated hair care products. Products with sulphates, parabens and proteins can cause irreversible damage to extensions, so you should avoid these at all costs.

Can I style my tape hair extensions?

Yes, you can curl, straighten, blow-dry and style your Remy tape extensions just as you would your natural hair. However, to preserve the quality and lifespan of your extensions, you should always use a heat protectant spray and stick to a lower heat setting. If you can, why not try out some heatless methods to style your extensions?

Can I cut my tape hair extensions?

Yes! When you visit a salon to have your tape extensions applied, your stylist will likely cut your extensions to help them blend with your natural hair.

Buying tape hair extensions online +

What should I look for when buying hair extensions online?

Since you cannot physically see and touch the hair extensions, you will need to rely on other information to make your decision. Look at details such as hair weight, length, quality and colour. Tape-in human hair extensions are first prize because they are high quality and will last longer. Before you make a purchase, however, make sure that the supplier is reputable by looking at customer reviews, refund policies and whether their checkout is secure.

What is the difference between tape and clip-in extensions?

Like many women, you may be wondering whether clip-in or tape hair extensions are a better choice. The answer to this question is all dependent on your preferences and your natural hair. Tape-in hair extensions are much lighter and flexible, while clip-in hair extensions are heavier and unsuitable for all hairstyles and types. It’s also important to decide whether you want something more permanent or simply want longer hair for special occasions as this will determine which option is right for you.

How will I know if my extensions are high-grade Remy hair?

You will be able to see and feel the difference in our hair extensions. Unlike low-grade, non-Remy extensions, even after wearing them for three months or more, they will still be beautifully soft (provided you use the recommended products).

How do I choose the right colour for my tape extensions?

When selecting your Jadore Hair Supplies tape extensions, be sure to use the middle to ends of your hair as a reference - not your roots. If you’re still torn between two colours, opt for the lighter shade, as your extensions can be dyed darker.

Does Jadore offer a refund if the colour of my extensions is not right?

Yes, we offer refunds, but please check the colour of your tape-in hair extensions before you remove the gold tie packaging. If the gold ties are left intact, and you contact us within 30 days, we will happily exchange your extensions for the right colour.

What payment options does Jadore offer?

When you reach the checkout, you will be able to choose between Credit Card, PayPal (credit, cheque or savings), or simply use After Pay to receive your items now and pay later.

When will I receive my order?

We offer same-day dispatch for orders received before 12.00pm AEST. You’ll be able to select between standard and express shipping at checkout.
